Calogero Casà graduated in Medicine in 2015 and completed his residency program in Radiation Oncology in 2020 in Rome, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. He currently works at the Radiation Oncology Unit of Ospedale Isola Tiberina – Gemelli Isola of Rome from July 2022, addressing his clinical and research interests especially on radiation and clinical oncology (genitourinary tract, head and neck and gastrointestinal cancer), radiomics, artificial intelligence, digital health, data and process mining. He was selected as University Tutor (September 2015 – September 2016) and he worked at Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS of Rome from November 2020 to June 2022.
In June 2023 he achieved the National Scientific Qualification for Associate Professor from University and Research Italian Ministry.
In September 2019 he received by the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), the ASTRO Resident Recognition Award during the ASTRO 2019 Annual Meeting, in Chicago.
He coordinated the activity of VALIDATE project (Value-bAsed Learning for Innovation, Digital-health, Artificial inTelligencE).
During his university and residency periods, he had several role as student representative and administrator (member of Faculty Council, of the Joint Committee, of the Radiation Oncology Residency Board, of the Board of Directors) and served as National Coordinator of Residents Department, as Deputy President and as Member of the National Presidency of the Italian Young Medical Doctor Society (SIGM).
From November to December 2018, he traveled to Karachi (Pakistan) to participate in an international exchange program “PIONEERS” (Pakistan Italy, Oncology Network ExpeRiencES Project).
